Jessie Good
Painting in the Pacific Northwest
I create serene, slightly whimsical paintings.
I start with a watercolor under-painting and add texture with oil paint
or oil pastel, letting the watercolor peek through in tiny places. Nice
color and texture surprises come out of this. Texture and layering are
a big part of my paintings, and I love to have a hidden element peeking
out from a deeper layer.
My paintings show relationships between characters or between a character
and its world. The characters are mostly people or birds. I think birds
have fun quirky behaviors and great shapes, and for me, they represent
life and death, and freedom. |
